NEWS FLASH: Dan Parker, Director of City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) will attend the 10-May-2022 Rocky Ripple Town Council Meeting to present the rationale for the current Rocky Ripple Floodwall plan, which includes the removal of up to 13 homes, as well as the Rocky Ripple Town Hall. The agenda for this meeting also includes the Rocky Ripple Town Council voting on whether to proceed to the 60% design stage for this project. Per DPW, getting to the 60% design stage for the project will provide for a final written plan for the project that will answer pending questions regarding cost specifics, exact property footage, trees and structures affected, and where public access points would be.
Please note that this vote is not the final vote from the Rocky Ripple Town Council for moving forward with construction of the project. This will occur after the final written project plan and a project cooperation agreement between the City of Indianapolis, the Town of Rocky Ripple and Butler University are completed. This is expected to occur in September, 2022.
The Rocky Ripple Town Council meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at the Rocky Ripple Town Hall at 7:30 pm. For those that cannot attend the meeting live, it is also broadcast via Zoom. You can attend remotely by following the meeting link below:
