The Town of Rocky Ripple is responsible for all of the streets and roads located within the town of Rocky Ripple. This includes all streets west of the 52nd and 53rd street bridges leading into the town. The Rocky Ripple Council and Rocky Ripple Town Manager oversee maintenance of the streets. This includes paving, patching of potholes and weather-related activities, such as salting of the roads and clearing of snow.
Over the past several years, the town has obtained matching grants from the state of Indiana Department of Transportation in order to repave streets. As funding for road repair is limited, roads and streets are prioritized for maintenance based upon the condition of the road and how much traffic/usage there is of a particular street.
The town was approved for $53,276.58 in Community Crossings matching grant funds from the state for 2021 and the following streets are scheduled to be repaved in 2021:
• 52nd Street
The town obtained $93,842.42 in Community Crossings matching grant funds from the state of Indiana Department of Transportation, for a total of $117,303.02 allocated to be spent for road repairs for the year of 2020.
