Obituary: Danny Lee Orr

Danny L. Orr, 56, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2011. Born May 14, 1955 in Lepanto, Ark. He was the oldest child of Marion Harold Orr and the late Dorothy Ellen Herman Orr. Danny was a loving and caring husband, dedicated father and friend. His devotion and love for his wife, children and family will always be treasured. The loyalty and pride that he had for his community and country will always be remembered.

For 12 years, he was employed by Verizon. He served in the USMC, US Army and US Navy. He also proudly served his community on the Town Council and as leader of the Rocky Ripple Veterans Association.

Mr. Orr is survived by his wife, Deborah Kemp Orr, daughter Karina Orr Lowe of Los Angeles, Calif., son, Daniel Marion Orr of Fayetteville, N.C., father Marion Harold Orr of Jonesboro, Ark., sister Diane Householder of Indianapolis, brother Michael Steven Orr of Pembroke, Fla., and grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Community gathering 3:30pmThe Community Association, along with the Town Board, will host a community gathering/pitch-in late lunch/early dinner to honor Danny Orr.  The gathering will be held beginning approximately at 3:30 pm  Wednesday July 20th at the Town Hall. Everyone is invited to attend.  Please bring a side dish, entree, or dessert of your choice to share.  The community association will provide sandwich trays and soft drinks.  The town hall will open at noon Wednesday for those who wish to drop off food.

A military ceremony will take place at which time a special wreath will be taken from the Town Hall to Veteran’s Park where neighborhood veterans will have an opportunity to offer a final salute to Danny.
